Return of the Critique
A bit of time has passed since my last post. Mostly time spent working my jobs. Classes seem to be going well so far. The 3D projects that students at my university enjoyed seem to be going over well with my community college. The group home job is taking up way too much time. I was expecting to be at a training in North Jersey tonight, only to learn this morning that it was supposed to be early today. It will have to be rescheduled. But meanwhile I would be off tonight, so I could attend the critique after all. Between holidays and other things, we haven't met for a while, and I hadn't expected to be available tonight, but Molly said she could host it tonight if she wanted and we got the word out. With my schedule changed, I decided to go check it out.
I found the group in the hallway- a strong odor made it difficult to use our space. (not from us or anything we have, and building management was notified) And a relatively small group, probably because of the short notice. On the board, mixed media pieces from Christina in the lower left corner, then continuing counter clockwise, a block in progress from Mary, and a silk screen from Molly. On the floor in front some recent pencil sketches from Molly. To the far right, my most recent boardwalk block, a scene from Asbury's boardwalk, started before Hurricane Sandy and not yet done. Since I am showing a group of boardwalk prints in December, seems like a good time to get this one done. Not expecting to be there tonight I had not bought cheese, but I did have an unopened bag of taralli I had purchased a few weeks ago from my cheese guy in Union, and tonight's crowd really enjoyed them.
Postcards for the boardwalk show should be in later this week, delivered to the show site, which happens to be a building I work in. I'll post something when I get them.
